Bob Seger announced that his upcoming tour with the Silver Bullet Band will be his last; the 27-date trek will be a farewell to his career that has spanned over more than 50 years.

Seger, 73, did not mention a specific reason as to why this will be his final tour, but has been mentioning retirement since 2011.

“My career is winding down,” he told Rolling Stone seven years ago. “What can I say? I can’t do this much longer. My manager is 70. We’ve been together for 45 years now and we need to stop pretty soon and turn it over to the Kid Rocks and Eminems. I guess we’re in the final stages here. When I got offstage the other night I said to my security guy, ‘That was surreal. I can’t believe I just did a full-on rock show.’ It’s just surreal.”

Last year, while on his Runaway Train tour, the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer had to cancel a run of dates due to a ruptured disk and surgery. Earlier this year, he told Rolling Stone that he’s “feeling better all the time,” and once the pain stops, he’ll get back to playing guitar and piano again.

The farewell tour will kick-off on November 21 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and will go on to make stops in cities like St. Louis, Nashville, Buffalo, Portland, Phoenix, and Los Angeles. In May 2019, he will wrap-up the trek for his final show in Houston, Texas. While these are the only shows as of right now, a press release notes that more shows will be announced in Las Vegas, Fresno, San Diego, Vancouver, and more cities.

Seger will join other artists on their farewell tours, including Joan Baez, Ozzy Osbourne, Paul Simon, Elton John, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Slayer.
