WWE: Royal Rumble 2019 will take place at a baseball stadium for the first time ever, with tickets going onsale this Friday.

The event will take place at Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona on January 27, 2019. Chase Field, which is home to the Arizona Diamondbacks, holds nearly 50,000 fans – three times the capacity of Talking Stick Resort Arena, where the 2013 event was held.

“It’s an incredible stadium,” WWE superstar Daniel Bryan said. “Right now, the thought is that we’d come out of the dugout. We’ve never had a Royal Rumble in a baseball stadium before. I’m super-psyched. I’ve never come out of a dugout to go into a wrestling show before.”

The pay-per-view event has been held annually since 1988 and features 30 wrestlers. Each match is in 90-second intervals, and the losing wrestler is thrown over the top rope of the ring. Whichever wrestler is left standing at the end of the night is pronounced the winner and will move on to the world championship, WrestleMania.

This past year’s event, held at Philadelphia’s Wells Fargo Center, was the first to feature a men’s and women’s Royal Rumble match. Wrestler Asuka was the first to win the women’s Royal Rumble match, followed by Shinsuke Nakamura in the men’s category.

Fans have been speculating over who the Royal Rumble 2019 winner might be, and it’s possible that John Cena and Randy Orton could have a shot at winning the title for the third time. Other potential winners include the Rock, Batista, and The Undertaker.
