Punk-rock powerhouse Blag Flag announced earlier this year that they are returning to the music scene with their first show in five years, and now, they’re adding a full U.S. tour to their itinerary.

Their previously-announced first appearance will take place at Sabroso Festival in Dana Point, California early April, followed by sets at the Utah State Fair and Colorado’s Fiddlers Green Amphitheater. The U.S. tour will kick-off on August 7 in New Orleans, Louisiana.  From there, they’ll make stops in Detroit, Reno, Pittsburgh, and Austin before wrapping-up in Dallas, Texas on September 14. Following the U.S. dates, the group will head overseas for a round of shows throughout the UK and Japan.

Vocalist Mike Vallely explained how the group had a “good run” in 2014, playing about 60 shows throughout North America, but he’s “excited to get back inside the songs, and I feel like I’m in the best place in my life to do so.”

“As a vocalist, I think it’s important to present the songs sincerely, to express them completely — every nuance of them, and to truly live them in the moment that you perform them,” he said. “I feel good about being able to do that. It’s a very substantial catalog of timeless songs, and a lot of great vocalists have sung these songs before me, and that both inspires and encourages me.

“I’m truly happy for the opportunity to be able to perform this music, and I look forward to seeing you all up the road! Much Love!”

The band was reformed by Vallely and guitarist Greg Ginn earlier this year – they’ll be joined by Gregory Moore on drums and Dale Nixon on bass. Black Flag is best-known for hits like 1978’s “Nervous Breakdown,” as well as “Rise Above” and “Six Pack” off 1981’s Damaged. Their latest release, What The…, dropped in 2013.
