Cher Postpones Winnipeg Show Last-Minute Due To Illness

Cher had to scrap her show in Winnipeg on Tuesday last-minute after a “sudden short-term illness.”
The 73-year-old singer was slated to perform at the Bell MTS Place, but nearly an hour before her opening act took the stage, concertgoers were told that Cher would not be performing because of a sudden illness. While no details were provided, promoter Live Nation noted that the show would be rescheduled, so fans are encouraged to hold onto their tickets.
Although her fans are wishing her well, many took to social media to express their frustration about the very last-minute cancellation. Nearly 10,000 people were in attendance, organizers noted, and the audience was ready to see Cher perform after two opening acts had already opened the show. Concertgoers are wondering why they weren’t notified about the cancellation in advance.
Yesterday, Cher responded to fans via Twitter, explaining how she is heartbroken that she had to cancel the gig, and it “truly hurts me to disappoint fans who are excited about coming to see my show.” She noted that she is “sad beyond belief,” but will appear in Saskatoon tonight.

Cher is currently crossing Canada on her Here We Go Again 2019 tour in support of her ABBA-inspired tribute album, Dancing Queen. After stopping in Saskatoon, she will visit Edmonton, Calgary, and Vancouver in the coming week. From there, she’ll take a break before kicking-off another U.S. run in November.
