The legendary Elton John took the mid-week number one best-selling position, Ticket Club sales data revealed.
The singer’s Boston performance, a stop on his Farewell Tour, was yesterday’s top-selling event. The “Rocket Man” came out on top in Pollstar’s 2019 mid-year touring charts with a $82.6 million gross, based on box-office earnings from a segment of his global “Farewell Yellow Brick Road” tour, according to Variety. Heavy metal fans also enjoyed an exciting day of sales, with tickets for concerts by Slayer and Metallica sold into the top twenty list. Other best selling musical performances included Willie Nelson and Family, Paul McCartney and Billy Joel.
Yesterday’s hottest-selling game was the International Champion’s Cup pitting Real Madrid CF and Atletico de Madrid, followed by the Penn State Nittany Lions vs. the Pittsburgh Panters game and the Super Copa MX. The long-standing rivalry between the Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees still burns hot in fans’ hearts, as the game between the two former champions sold into the top ten.
