The Friendly soccer match between Napoli and Barcelona was yesterday’s top selling event, according to Ticket Club sales data.
Soccer sold extremely well over the weekend, with the Friendly and International Friendly each earning several spots on the top twenty best-sellers, reflecting the intense international demand for the sport. Once again, the famed rivalry between the Red Sox and the Yankees drove huge sales, with their match at Fenway in Boston reaching all the way up to the second best-selling position. The Houston Astros vs. Seattle Mariners and the Colorado Rockies vs. the L.A. Dodgers were also among the day’s top-selling games.
The Crossroads Guitar Festival, a series of music festivals and benefit concerts founded by Eric Clapton, was also a hot commodity yesterday; this years’s lineup includes Sheryl Crow, John Mayer, Peter Frampton, Gary Clark Jr. and more. The Rolling Stones, Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band, Billy Joel, Elton John and the Broadway production of To Kill A Mockingbird also sold well Sunday.
