Kristin Chenoweth To Perform Limited Engagement on Broadway
The Tony Award-Winning actress Kristin Chenoweth, known for her work in Wicked and You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown, is returning to Broadway this fall for a limited time for a show celebrating the release of her latest LP, For The Girls.
The show, which revolves around some of the greatest top hits by women, will be directed by Richard Jay-Alexander with music direction by Mary-Mitchell Campbell at the Nederlander Theater. Theatergoers have the chance to hear songs like Barbara Streisand’s “The Way We Were,” “When I Fall In Love” by Dolly Parton, and Judy Garland’s “The Man That Got Away.”
Chenoweth’s album pays tribute to artists that have helped shape her throughout the years. The forthcoming record, which drops September 27 via Concord Records, features top acts like Ariana Grande, Parton, Jennifer Hudson, and Reba McEntire.
“I wanted to make something that men could also enjoy, but this is by the girls and for the girls,” Chenoweth said in a statement. “I wanted to pay homage to these women and do them proud, but I also wanted to put my own stamp on it. And I think I was able to do that.”
The limited time engagement will kick-off on November 8 and run through November 17. This fall, Chenoweth will also visit a few cities across the U.S. for shows, including Santa Barbara, Los Angeles, Sarasota, and Huntsville.
