The Seattle Mariners just revealed a special $5 ticket deal for 10 games this spring ahead of the new MLB season.

The “Mariners Value Games” apply to 10 games throughout March and May, including matches against the Rangers, Twins, Nationals, Angels, Astros, and Athletics at T-Mobile Park. Most of the games are mid-week night games, aside from the March 29th match for a Sunday matinee. However, the deals will cover most of the games during the first couple of months into the new season, leaving just Opening Day, a Thursday series opener with the Red Sox, and a pair of likely weekday matinees with Minnesota and Washington as non-deal games.

While the tickets themselves are $5, the deal also offers the ability to purchase a $5 store item. Additionally, during the $5 Value Games, fans will be able to purchase $5 treats from the “Special Mariners Menu,” which includes a draft beer, hot dog, soda, peanuts, or nachos – regardless of their purchase of $5 tickets or not.

The deal comes amid reports this past year that MLB attendance has dropped to its lowest numbers since 2003 – a 16-year low. According to Sports Businesstotal attendance in 2019 drew in 68.49 million, which was down 1.7% from the previous year and the league’s sixth decline over the last seven seasons. The decline likely has to do with the decrease in season ticket sales, leaving holes in the crowd. Multiple teams offered initiatives throughout the year to boost attendance, but ticket prices likely have to drop to see a significant increase in attendance.
