Stone Temple Pilots have been forced to cancel their winter North American tour while vocalist Jeff Gutt recovers from surgery.

The band took to social media to share the news, noting that Gutt had a severely herniated disk and needed immediate surgery, followed by weeks of recovery time and physical therapy.

“Thankfully, Jeff is expected to make a full recovery and we will continue with our Australian tour with Live and Bush in April, the summer tour with Nickelback, and we hope to reschedule the ‘Perdida’ tour later this year,” the band said. “Everyone who purchased tickets for the ‘Perdida’ tour will get full refunds for their tickets at point of purchase. Thank you all for your understanding. We love you all and hope to see you on the road again soon.”

the Perdida Tour was slated to kick-off on February 5 in Vancouver, British Columbia, followed by gigs in San Francisco, Denver, Detroit, New York City, and Beverly Hills. They were set to make stops at venues like Tropicana in Atlantic City, Milwaukee’s Turner Hall Ballroom, and the Roseland Theater in Portland. Although the gigs are cancelled, U.S. fans can still catch the group when they open the show for Bush and Live throughout April, or see them appear on tour with Nickelback throughout the summer.

Stone Temple Pilots were slated to appear in support of their forthcoming acoustic album, Perdida, due February 7.
