Minnesota Timberwolves Introduce New Season Ticket Incentive Program
In an effort to strengthen their fan base, the Minnesota Timberwolves are introducing a new incentive program for season ticket holders. The organization is offering prospective buyers 50 percent off concession and merchandise purchases through the next two seasons and a flat-rate for season tickets through the 2021-22 season. Additionally, Timberwolves season ticket holders will now have customized flexibility with unlimited game exchanges.
Minnesota currently boasts some of the cheapest season tickets in the NBA, with select lower-level seats starting at $23 per game and upper level tickets available for $16 per game. As with their ticketing platform, the new discount deal for in-game purchases will be strictly mobile and can be accessed via the team’s official app.
“As we conducted focus groups, we knew rewarding loyal fans with flat pricing and a substantial food and beverage discount was an opportunity to reevaluate what a Timberwolves season ticket membership could entail,” Timberwolves CEO Ethan Casson said in a statement. “With the excitement around our team, we want to create a home court advantage and make Target Center full of energy. We hope this new platform rewards our season ticket members for their loyalty, attracts new members, and allows us to deliver a customized member experience via the Timberwolves mobile app.”
The new incentive program comes days after D’Angelo Russell and Karl-Anthony Towns announced a fan giveaway of 1,000 tickets to their February 12 home game against the Charlotte Hornets. The stars took on that initiative to show their appreciation for the flood of fan support that came following Russell’s move to Minnesota from Golden State during the league’s trade deadline.
Minnesota’s current standings are dismal with them ranked 14th in the Western Conference. However, team officials and longtime fans are optimistic about a bright future behind the tandem of Towns and Russell, both of whom are under contract through 2023.
