Ticketmaster Expands Global Reach With Launch In Singapore, Taiwan
Ticketmaster revealed that it will be expanding its global portfolio with the purchase of Tixcraft in Taiwan and the launch of Ticketmaster in Singapore.
After securing a place at the Sports Hub panel in Singapore, the ticketing giant became one of the three ticketing companies that promoters can select within the market. Mark Yovich, president of Ticketmaster International, said in a statement that the acquisition of Tixcraft and launch in Singapore means that Ticketmaster has “established two great bases with talented teams to support the bourgeoning live entertainment scene in Asia.”
“We are introducing greater levels of service and choice to event organisers across the region and can now provide fans with access to our worldwide marketplace of events,” Yovich said.
Asia has been a country of interest for those in the live entertainment industry; last year, Australia’s TEG launched the new ticketing platform Ticketek Singapore in Asia and TEG acquired TicketWorld, one of the largest ticketing companies in the Philippines.
Chad Phillips, the former managing director for APACTix, has been appointed to the new role of managing director for Ticketmaster Asia. He will be based in Singapore.
“Over recent year, the live entertainment industry across Asia has seen some immense growth and right now is the perfect time to welcome Ticketmaster to Taiwan and Singapore,” Phillips said in a release.
The expansion helps Ticketmaster grow globally, creating a presence in 32 countries across the world.
