Select fans and well-wishers may be able to attend a memorial service for NBA legend Kobe Bryant and his 13-year-old daughter Gianna. A limited number of tickets will be made available to the public for the February 24 service at the Staples Center, the Los Angeles Lakers announced.

Ticketmaster’s Verified Fan platform will release a limited number of tickets for the memorial. Fans can register now through 10 p.m. Monday, February 17 for a chance to purchase. They will then be notified the following evening with a unique code to the sale if verified. Tickets will be released to the public on February 19 at 10 a.m. PT.

It was reported by TMZ earlier this week that in addition to the Bryant’s family and friends, NBA players and officials will be invited to attend, as well as Lakers season ticket holders. Open seating throughout the Staples Center will be available for either $224 per ticket, $224 for two tickets or $24.02 each. The pricing, as well as the service’s date of 2/24 is a nod to both Kobe and Gianna’s basketball numbers. Proceeds from the ticket sales will be donated to the Mamba & Mambacita Sports Foundation.

As with past public memorials honoring Michael Jackson and Nipsey Hussle, the area surrounding the Staples Center will be closed for security and traffic control. The service will not be shown on screens outside the arena, however, it will reportedly broadcast on multiple TV networks.

The former Lakers star and his daughter were among nine killed in a January 26 helicopter crash in Calabasas, California. They were flying to Gianna’s basketball game at the Mamba Sports Foundation, the youth sports academy founded by Kobe in 2018, alongside fellow parents and teammates. Vanessa Bryant recently announced that the training center will now be known as The Mamba & Mambacita Sports Foundation to honor her late husband and daughter.

The Lakers were scheduled to take on cross-town rival LA Clippers two days after Bryant’s death, however, the NBA postponed the game given the circumstances. Details remain unknown over when the two LA squads will play but StubHub has agreed to donate all its net proceeds from tickets to the Kobe & Vanessa Bryant Family Foundation.
